04/23/08 - Officially 501(c)3
Today is a great day for Feline Assistance Network!!
We are very proud to announce that we have finally received our official letter from the IRS granting us our 501c3 status. This has been almost two years in the making, and its been a long time coming. Many people have worked hard to get us to this point, and now we have arrived at this milestone. The 501c3 status is our building block, and it will allow us to expand our fundraising efforts, to apply for grants, and in the long run, we will be able to help even more kitties, more often.
Since June of 2006, we have been able to help over 1200 cats with spay/neuter surgery through our program; and in 2007 we rescued, fostered and helped re-home 101 cats. This year we expect to assist approximately 600-800 cats with spay/neuter, and hope to foster and re-home about 75 cats/kittens. These numbers should increase annually.
Any donations that you may have made in the past were tax deductable, since the status is retroactive to June of 2006; and future donations will remain tax deductable. If you havent made a donation, and were waiting for this announcement, we would encourage you to make a tax deductable donation at this time; no matter how small.
Kitten season is here, and the calls are already coming in for us help more cats than we can financially or physically handle; so help is especially needed right now! The average cost for spay/neuter through our program is $38, and donations can be made via paypal from our website, or mailed directly. Additional foster homes will be needed as well, so if you are at all interested in temporarily taking in an adult or kittens, please email us.
Thanks to everyone who supports our efforts!
Heres to the future,

One Year Anniversary
FAN will be celebrating one year of operation on June 13th, and is proud to announce that we helped s/n 615 cats in our first year.
Currently, FAN is still in the process of filing for 501c3 status, and hopefully will recieve that status soon. Once we recieve that, we hope to apply for grants that will help us fix many more kitties.
FAN has been scraping by this year to make ends meet, and donations have not been coming in. FAN has not recieved a cash donation in about 2 months, other than the purchases made at the Garage sale.
We hope that we can alter 800 cats in our next year, and that we can raise funds from the public and viea grants.
Fan is thankful to all those who did contribute during our first year, and to those who volunteered thier time, and to Greenhill Humane Society for all that they have done for us.
